About Me

My name is Jason Morris. I grew up in the Lakes Region, have lived in the Seacoast and now live in Farmington, NH. My parents would bring us kids hiking from a very young age and my uncle brought me up my first 4000 footer (Adams) when I was 10 and I have been hooked since. My purpose for this blog is to share my love and passion for hiking and appreciating the trails and natural beauty of New England and when I get the chance...other states in this beautiful Country!

I began hiking with Scott, now my partner, in 2007 and began venturing to the non-presidential peaks. I have loved the many different mountains, my favorite thus far being the Sandwich Range. We are not out to see how many peaks we can bag or how fast we can hike a mountain. Rather we are out to enjoy ALL that IS hiking. We take our time to enjoy the hike and to take in all the surroundings! Whether that be a mountain top, a forest, pond, field, ledge or whatever. Each area has something to offer.

Scott and I took the Forest Society Land Steward Core Training in May of 2011 and are now Land Stewards of Moose Mountains Reservation in Middleton, NH! We have 2300 acres of woods roads, trails, mountains and forests! Among maintaining these trails we have built 3 trails on the property foregoing extensive trail building and rock work training.

In June 2014 we completed the NH 48 4000 Footers on West Bond. We began this journey in July 2007 on the Bonds. It has been a blast seeing all the mountains and there are many we will return to! From the towering wall of Katahdin of Maine to the granite batholith of Stone Mountain in Georgia, we have been fortunate enough to have some amazing hikes. And we hope their to be many, many more! Hope to see you on the mountains!
